what company's proto post is that, and is the whole thing plastic?

Deity. Nylon type plastic with an aluminum sleeve in the centre.

oah sweet, so is it much lighter then a traditional pivotal post of the same length?

It's a 27.2 and at 140mm uncut, it weighs 105g if that helps. Can't seem to find a weight on a comparable post online.

maybe compare it to the weight of the macneil 330mm post in 27.2mm thats what i currently have on my xc bike but if this is significantly lighter then i would consider getting in.
