I took the Prairie Scooter up to Ashland, and discovered it wanting on terrain features such as hills, and cobbles in the forest roads &c. Once I specify and build a useable 29er front wheel I hope to christen "that thing" the "Ridge Runner" and use it on a Siskiyou-Warner Gap run before the snow this fall.
This is temporary, I have another BR-M975 caliper that matches the rear, just want the lever. It's been out towards Nortonville to test out the single-speed drivetrain and I had to change gearing to tighten up the chainrun. Essentially brakeless, I go pretty slowly. You'll notice the 49er configuration here; Very handy when brakes and smooth maneuvering fail and the only option is bailing out.
