i had cracks on mt echo fork too (not the sl) gave it to a mate for welding.. he lost it (dont ask how) no to see this.. i am glad i dont have em anymore..

haha , yeah ,probably for the best that it was lost before it had a chance to snap while you were riding 
there was absolutely no sign of mines cracking , it just went all of a sudden 
and what's more annoying is that it snapped the day after the warrenty ran out -_-
this was really common with the sl fork which had 4 bolt mounts because they weren't heat treated very well so they snapped above the top brake mount weld, still , it was an awesome fork while it lasted
