is there a real difference between 170 and 175 mm crank lengths? i bough a set of dmrs that are 175 and my friend told me that they wouldnt be the best for jumping because of the extra length

no. only difference they really make is more or less clearance with the front wheel. thats all i can really detect. also more leverage, over say a 165mm crank.
