how are the rims holding up?

Really well suprisingly, I was very not sure at first. The front proved it self really fast on a 270 to nose manny down a 4 set.
I was going to replace the back as soon as I could but that was 3 months ago and i'm still riding it in a very hack fashion.
It's help up to learning 450 to fakie on a hip.
In no way is it bomb proof I have to make sure I keep it tight but for the weight of it and how hack I am i'd say they are fantastic rims/

Right on ! Yeah I seen one with cracks around the holes and that's the only one I've ridden, do you true it often?
  • 1 0
I think cr cracked his at the holes but I've have no problems yet, and I only have to tru them after I f*ck up bag like a 450 out of a bank or that time I dropped my bike from about 10 feet up to back wheel. But I check tension by hand a fair bit but if I go about a month with no bad bails it will need a once over. nothing major 1/4 turn each spoke

Yeah sick , I had a chance to get the 521s on ns rotarys for 190 new , I didn't because I was told they wouldn't last. I wish I would have because it would have saved me money and some weight over me pimplite set

My 729's on rotorys where bomb proof, but I don't think I need them.
521 to ns/gsport has been running like a dream so far.
And the gsport sounds so much nicer on a 26" rim than a 20"

Yeah if I kill my pimplites I'd be so surprised , there so tough. But you know how it is you can't have everything you want in a rim cheap/light/strong

Pimplite is a fair price fairly heavy but strong as Fack
I find alot of light wheels just need to be trued too often. But when you get real strong rims the weight is always there

Yea i've come to accept that i'll be tightening and adjusting wheels for the rest of my life, and truing after big fuck ups. It's more about how often I do it.
  • 1 0
Yeah , but I guess if your truing/ tensioning alot , you prob do other maitance to your bike at the same time , so you should get longer life out of your pArts that way , I always regrease everything quite a bit just because I want my bike to always be performing the best that it will

Yea I clean my bike once a week, take the bearings all out every 2 weeks. Try to stretch out my parts as long as I can. Bikes are expensive I can't afford to take chances Razz

Yeah Im a firm believer in part maitance and cleaning is key to havin them perform there best for alot longer. And I here yeah since summer I have 2500 into my Octane and 600 into my dh , and i still gotta buy a car yet , man I gotta stop upgrading my bikes

Never! After I finish this bike (for now) I'm planning on getting a small fully and getting in some real mtb riding this year. No time for a car Razz
