I have those grips! I really wish they came in orange or blue, then I'd buy another set.

Too bad on my "Classic" grips, the grip pattern wore to smooth in about 6 weeks and then to the hard shell in about 3 months. Only Deity product I am not impressed with......other than that I dig them.

My grips have recently turned smooth where the outside edge of my hand rests, and where my index finger rests. It's a completely recent thing. Started a month ago.

Yup, same areas. I got some replacements with the last order I made.....still have to put them on though. Rode to the bike shop without gloves on today to get my bike weighed and it was a funny feeling, at least the loss of rubber brought the weight down, haha.

 Yeah, by about 10g.

Haha, if that was the amount I so want to say that's what got the weight under 26lbs but no, it's 41g less but at least it helped.

41g, really? Hmm. Shaving the flanges only saves about 20g.

No, what I meant was that the bike was 41g less than 26lbs, 25.91lbs to be exact. Just saying it would have been funny if it was in the 10g lower than 26 range. Now.....did you shave your flanges off?

 Nope, I like my flanges.

I was gonna say.......they're my favorite part of the grips.

Just kinda keeps things in place, and it makes it a lot harder to cut my thumb/index finger webbing on a lock on.

Plus it's also nice to rest your thumbs on them when you're just cruisin', I mean like the finger print pad of the thumb pressing against them. I also have the fat Oury grips with the flanges on my Baby-Taxi bike and I love those as well, they're the ones for ATV's and they work perfect for MTB bars.

I just don't like not having flanges.
