Is the bb mounted guide working well for you? and hows the qr in the back?
  • 1 0
Hey man. The BB mounted guide is great! It works fine however with this frame I had to file the bb adapter so it wouldn't rub against the linkage, nbd though. QR is sweet, I haven't noticed any flex from it at all, feels solid! I am currently running a reverb and dirty30's and it is perfect for a do it all bike! Are you thinking of purchasing a reign?

i'm looking at the reign 1, stumpy fsr comp, devinci dixon xp, vitus escarpe 1, and mongoose teocali comp. there are a few more out there that are catching my eye, but forgetting the names. the reign 0 is nice because it comes with a dropper post, and the new ones are going to come with iscg05 and 12x142 rear ends next year. cant decide!

Just looked at the specs for the 2012 reign, stumpy and devinci. Get the reign! Dropper post and slx is a huge bonus over the other two! Maestro works great too. Iscg 05 and 12x142 is nice but not 100% needed, especially if it costs more!! Let me knew if you need any more advice Smile

Yeah that's the thing. Giant has lifetime warranty too so if anything was to happen, i'd be good.

Fair enough buddy. The reign would be a sweet choice! I see it comes with a better shock too.. Such a bonus. Shock is the only thing letting my build down at the moment.
  • 1 0
yeah your build looks sick. how do you like it with the shorter stem?

Thanks man! Big Grin It feels perfect! it is 65mm, excellent mix for the ups and downs. still manoeuvrable and has a good amount of control.

here is a recent picture, with the low/wider bars it feels soooo nice - www.pinkbike.com/photo/8317841

School man. tuition is about 8000, then living costs on top of that. i'll probably get a job during the school year.
  • 1 0
University? ours is £9000, count yourself lucky!! haha, i am only 16 so am spending all my money on bikes because i can really.. not going to get a car anytime soon either because i can just use trains.
  • 1 0
yeah i paid roughly 10000 pounds for 1st year with living in residence and everything. shit is not cheap haha.
  • 1 0
Damn soooo much! hopefully pay off though. what are you studying?
  • 1 0
commerce. but after uni i'm going to college, so on top of my 4 year degree, another 2 years. unless i can find a bomb job when i get out of uni.
  • 1 0
Sweet. whaaat, In the UK you go to college first, then uni haha. i have just finished my first year. Its so strange that college is after uni to me haa.
  • 1 0
yeye. for me over here it was elementary school, high school, and then you choose uni or college haha. straight up college is a lot easier than uni. need higher grades to get in, bigger course load, more difficult courses, and it takes longer. but yeah keep dropping dough on your bikes while you can haha.
  • 1 0
Ohh okay, so what qualifications do you get from college and uni? for us, college gives us A levels and university gives us degree's. I am going to man! making some money this summer, going to drop 1/3 on clothes, 1/3 on parts (shock probably) and 1/3 into savings!
  • 1 0
you know budgeting well haha. College you get a diploma in whatever you studied, and uni gives you a degree in your field. in uni you can also do like double major, major and a minor, and specializations in certain field specific to your area of study. so i'm studying commerce, but doing my concentration in supply chain management, and i might do a minor in entrepreneurship.

omg i'm confused haha! Sounds good though man, good that you have it all thought out. I need to think what to do at uni!!

something you're good at and enjoy. i like math, and enjoy business-y type stuff.
  • 1 0
Yeah man, luckily I am good at and enjoy computers. Is just finding the field that i want to get a job in really, I have chosen my 4/5 courses for next year to be focused on different areas of computers so I will be able to get an idea of what i enjoy. I would like to study something businessy too.. wish i didn't take media studies!!
