I'm starting to think that the evolution of the dropper post has come back to the original, for a reason. $400+ is a RIDICULOUS amount of money to spend on a remote dropper post, that at best doesn't works part of the time! I understand the desire/need to have a remote post, but they don't work! The upper post/seat collar attachment is just plain silly, with regards to the cable housing attachment location. The under seat adjuster arm may not be the most convenient but it works better than the remote designs, at least at this point in time. And the answer to this "convenience" issue by some manufacturers has been to route the housing through the frame of the bike and out at the seat collar is just wrong! Design a GOOD dropper post and there is no need to REDESIGN the bike frame around the shitty post! My opinion is that the dropper post frenzy is taking away from a real design, that works and doesn't cost a small fortune.

How mutch do you think the Thompson post is going to retail for? I don't think it's going to be any cheaper than a Reverb which, by the way, works VERY well. I don't quite understand your point..
