Not sure really.......I've got superstar components dh wheels which I use for everything.....as for the brake,I've never had Avids but while in France this year 4 friends all boiled theirs within a day so that put me off for life.lol..........I run Formula but will be adding some SLX brakes soon. Iam fairly heavy on wheels and don't know if the DTs will last.......how are you finding the Hammerschmidt?.....is it any good for dh?

Been looking at the new Shimano's as well - their brakes are bombproof these days... But the Hope's won me over on their superior finish and use of DOT fluid Smile
The Hammerschmidt work really good actually - I'm impressed! Still toying with the idea of changing to X0 singlespeed - for simplicity's sake, i guess...

My friends has the new SLX's and Iam really impressed with them, you can get them from Rose bike really cheap........I will most likely sell the wheels(£450) hammerschmidt(£500) brakes(£100) and replace with Hope Hoops EN521(£330) SLX brakes(£110) X0 Dh cranks(£300) and still have some cash left to pay some of the credit card off that Iam buying the bike on.lol.

I ride one too, but the wheels rims only lasted a few months and brakes have now been removed! Avid's are that poor compared with many others. Love it though, it's such a weapon.

Yeah, I read your post in the forums - was actually surprised that the rims weren't sturdier than that. Mine are still fine though, but I doubt the bike gets ridden half as hard as yours. No mountains and rocks here, only hills and mud Frown

I'm really pleased with the bike as well, but hating the brakes too. Still hoping they (and the bike) will hold up when I take it to some German bike parks this summer... Smile

My next purchase!!!!!!!...........just got a few questions about it if thats ok?.........whats the sizing like and how does it ride?

I'm 172cm and the M fits me pretty good. YT has measurement calculator for each bike on their website - I used it, because i was in doubt if i should get an M or an S.
It rides great, especially down hill, but it pedals efficiently uphill too (when flicking the shocks compression dampening to max)... Just remember it's a heavy bike Smile

Haha, nah, i realize i just need bigger legs! Smile

Cheers for that............the only thing that's making me think twice are the brakes n wheels but I would.more than likely change the straight away.

 Happy to help...

I'm not too happy with the brakes either, but I'll see what they're like after a bleed - otherwise I've been eyeing the Hope M4's or V2's. What wheels are you thinking of getting?
