It's definitely fun to have a fixed gear with a huge gearing to go full speed through the traffic of big cities (gives a nice adrenaline kick). I'd recommend riding at least a front brake with soft brakepads tho to stay alive
I broke my 11 cog Now I'm @ 42*16, in summer 52*11 or 12 On the Analog. Swapped handlebars as well, original ones now for winter instead of the shorties
Damn that is huge! Why so big? for me a 3:1 ratio already is huge and I wouldn't personally go bigger than that as that already pushes me to my maximum speed (bigger than that wouldn't make me go any faster)
On my roadbike I still have power left to go faster @ 52*10 The craziest fixie I've ridden had 56*10, was really hard to get going and even more crazy to stop! Most guys over here are between 46 and 52
I'm build different than you are. I'm a whole lot heavier and do a lot of weight training You probably have a big advantage riding uphill, where I would have an advantage on momentum. The beauty of cycling mate!
