maybe it was just bad timing, bad funding, don't know.... years ago l used to work for a local chain called Washington Bike Center... the owner, a jerk (John Chang) but, that's another story, he was trying to open several stores at the same time as well as a multi use bike park, bike concept store, an all in one package deal in the local area here in VA. He hired me and l was supposed to take over one of the stores they were trying to open and would eventually work as a manager at this bike-park / store after it was built. he talked it up good... hired me dirt cheap with big promises of earning big money. weeks, months later l will still just earning chump change waiting for "my store" to open... that never happened so l quite. rumor has it that his budget for this bike park was 2 million... it ended up being closer to 6 million and his investors pulled out, he couldn't get the funding. the bike park never happened and the 6 stores he did eventually open never really made it and the whole company was reduced to one store in the Fairfax VA area and now that store is closed too -- not sure when this happened. l think it was in 2010ish
