Pretty sure that's a carbon bar on there and won't drop much weight by swapping out that Thomson post for a different one. Already cheating with FR Muddy Marys. Thinking Ti coil, lighter pedals, 180mm rotor on the back, and tubeless if you're not already. WC that Boxxer and brakes are obviously heavier than others.

Ya carbon bar already, just purchased avid trails, next purchase will be a ti coil and tubeless is still on the list. I tried ghetto but just can't get the bead to seat. Of course the frame itself is a pig all on it's own, and ya the RC weighs a ton.

Um boat anchor cranks? Boat anchor Pedals? Bighit is more of a freeride frame so yeah it isn't light either.

Yup all around big piggy, much work to be done. She did have a fair amount of mud caked all over the underside, just saying...

When did 38lbs start being considered "heavy" for a DH bike?

 Three years ago....

38lbs became heavy when I started to follow all these weight weenies on pinkbike. Avid trails on the way, Ti coil on the way, just picked up new 180mm rotor and adapter and tubeless this weekend. Just play'n the game!
