I run this frame with a manitou s-type rear shock and a nixon fork with 20mm hub. I weigh 250 lbs and ride this bike aggressively, doing drops and jumps(nothing crazy) and fast,rough single track. This frame is super stiff and just rails corners. Definately my favourite trail bike ive ever owned.
This is without doubt, my favorite XC/All-Mountain Bike I've ever owned. I've been riding Specialized Enduros for the last 5 years so I was a little nervous to get on the Covert this year, knowing how much I loved my past bikes. A few minutes into the ride, and honestly, any doubts have flown straight out of my head. The combination of the perfect geometry (decent seat tube angle mixed with a relaxed, but not too much 67 head angle) and the Fox RP23 & Float 36's make this bike a dream. It pedals really well, climbs great (even without dropping the travel on the fork) and descends like a small downhill bike. The suspension is so supple and soaks up every little bump, yet handles the big stuff without losing face... all the while as it keeps the frame wonderfully balanced and not effecting the geometry. It is simply the fastest and most fun xc bike I've ever had. It could be made lighter with some relatively easy component swaps, but I like the stability of the Revolution 32 wheels and the DH chainset I have on it (Truvativ Holzfeller) seems to also help add to the strong, stiff, stable feel... without making it feel over-heavy for climbing and pedalling.
It looks beautiful (all in white, with black decals) and is making me ride more XC than ever... and a bike that makes you want to ride it more, is the best bike to have!

For the V2 Covert: Amazing bike and bang for the buck, paired with a Talas and Pro-Pedal will climb distance and steeps well, flip it back to 160mm and PP off then bomb back down. Even with no pro-pedal climbing is very efficient, no complaints at all.
Cons: I'm 5'10" w/ 30" inseam on a size M, curved top tube makes stand over a bit close.

"One bike to rule them all" - The Covert is my go to bike of choice for pretty much everything. From local loops to the megavalance this bike really can take it all and come back begging for more long after you are spent. Carries speed over trail impressively well for a "big bike" and almost never feels "too much" with a talas or lyrik 2-step fork up front. Ride it like you stole it.
2011 (V3) is just an awe inspiring frame.
Have built it up with full XTR and Talas36 160mm Forks.
I mainly ride aggressive XC but some light DH as well.
Pros; Stiff, fairly light, incredibly playful and totally responsive. Strong as too!
Cons; Not great at slogging up long fire roads but pretty agile when it comes to steeper technical ups.
Overall it's my do it all bike that I can't stop riding. My other bikes are getting lonely.

Fast, easy and not expensive. What can I ask other for this sort of frame. Probably one of my better toy since I began mountain biking 20 years ago !
This bike can do just about anything. I love how it handles going up or down the mountain, hitting jumps or ripping through some berms.
This is hands down the best bike I have ever ridden for fun fast flowy jump lines. Just check out my videos or pics to see some of the riding this thing can handle with ease.

The Covert was designed for those that love to pedal and rail long singletrack rides. If you are worried about weight but love to ride trails aggressively, the Covert gives you the best of both worlds without the weight penalty. The low slung frame and stiff rear end makes the bike snap around corners with the greatest of ease.
