I am the manager of a small mountain bike park in East Grinstead, West Sussex called Deers Leap Bikes. Only been here for a short while but want to change the quality of tracks here. Also been trying to get the local riders to come in and build whatever they like. Time will tell...

All Stories End, Trek World Racing - Video
It's good to mix up the stew every now and then otherwise it congeals and becomes all lumpy and unsatisfying and the dumplings get a bit like jelly.

Exclusive Ride Report: FOX Live Valve Active Suspension System
It's inevitable. Look at the systems in modern cars, it's bound to at least be looked at by the guys that want to push the technology. I'm very interested in this. Very interested indeed...

Alpinestars Pathfinder Shorts - Review
Does it have a velcro fly too? I had some AS shorts that did and the fly kept opening, not great when you work with kids.

I run an LBS too and the simple thing to do is be friendly. We pride ourselves on a relaxed friendly atmosphere and give out real world unbiased advice. I'll always try to price match and if I can't then I'll try to discount labour costs to try and even things out. If you have problems with your LBS try a different one. If that's not viable then chat to the mechanic, they tend to be more reasonable than simple sales guys/management.

Most people have said they buy parts online and get an LBS to fit them. Good luck trying to get a mechanic to fit them in the future when there aren't any because you were too much of a tightass. If you feel you are getting ripped off then use a different LBS or maybe try being friendly towards them. Being a mechanic can be a stressful job when there are a string of services to do along with the usual triathlete wanting his bike fixed yesterday. One mistake can mean a lawsuit that'll close the business so anyone that thinks working on bikes is easy, come along and try it.

Video: 3 Feet Tall And Shredding
Anyone have their addresses? Figured I'd send them all my bikes and stuff as now I clearly don't deserve them.

Ask Pinkbike: Should I lock out my fork? A clamp to fit a stubby seat tube? How can I land a bike shop job?
I run an LBS and what I look for is a passion for the sport and a hunger for knowledge. If you can show you have both then you'll be ahead of the game.

What do you think of it Mr. Horse? "No sir, I didn't like it!" (obscure cartoon reference ahoy!)

Pinkbike Poll - Do You Have Any Rituals?
I like to flare my nostrils, glance to my right and try to look like a pissed off horse whilst wearing trendy headphones. Also, if there are any cameras around... flex!
