this bike is dope! had the nomad experience, but the remedy got it best! its truly an all around mountain bike and I always look forward to riding every weekend...I wasn't much of a treky fan, but they finally step up and gained faithful customer.

good all round bike... its only short so if your a tall bastard like me ul need a bigger one... the only con is those crappy shimano brakes... mineral oil might save one fish from extinction but it gives a horrible on/ off feel to the brakes.
Biggest pro... fiddling around with the 2 step forks.. and trek active braking pivot is truely astonishing... literally no movement in the caliper whatsoever, meaning you have full use of your brakes, even when your wheel is locked up

Light... Stiff rear end... Excellent component spec... Excellent ride, very little brake influence on the suspension. I wouldn't say it's fully active, but at least as good as FSR, and way better than a single pivot or Faux-bar.

The downside was the fork. Mission Control was gushing oil out of the knobs and the 2-step wasn't fully returning to max travel. All this on the first ride out the shop door on the asphalt. Trek replaced it with an 09 TALAS. Kudo's to Trek! I'm a fan now of the company, not just their bikes!

The other issue is the E2 steer system. I think that is the most stupid concept of all time. 1.5 and 1 1/8 are perfectly acceptable. As a matter of fact, why not just make everything 1.5? Even XC can benefit from the thinner walls and larger diameters. Not to mention, E2 forks have zero resale value...

Anyway, bitching bike!!!!! Buy one!

This is the Third Remedy i have Owned....I love the ride and how it kills everything. I will get other bikes but ill never be without a Remedy....this bike goes where you take it...and the full floater effect is SICK, good job on trek for that technology!
