Kona Shonky INC

$1150 CAD
The bike would benefit from new brake pads and a new rotor (or atleast a good cleaning on this rotor) I may live to regret this choice… I’m selling my rare 2009 Kona Shonky INC DJ. This is a highly sought-after, 1 of his 50, special edition Shonky sold only in Canada for the 2009 model year. nsmb has a great article about why this bike is so special, and I will include a link to that article below. The bike as it is sold features the following: - Reynolds Chromoly steel frame, size small (very comfortable for me at 5’9”) - Rock Shox Argyle RCT 409 - Shimano M447 hydraulic disc brake - Atomlab wheel set - Maxxis Crossmark tyres - Kona cockpit - evo seatpost/saddle - FSA cranks, sprocket and BSA half link chain The bike recently recieved a full service. Brake was bled, chain was replaced, tubes were replaced, and it was cleaned and lubriacted. The bike has been slightly altered from its original trim. I am not the original owner and along the way some of the original parts were swapped out. The bike is set up to be a very comfortable, reliable and playful DJ, great for skateparks, pump tracks and dirt jumps. Collecters will note the absence of the original FSA gravity light bars and stem, the Avid Juicy 7 brakes, the OG Kona wahwah pedals, and the Alienation saddle/post. Of these components I do have the original brakes and stem which could be swapped for what is currently on the bike. I could also offer some assistance with sourcing some of the other original components if thats your flavour. Don’t be fooled by the age of this beauty. This is still an extremely relevant and capable dirt jumper that can hang with or even out perform anything on the market today. My price is quite firm. You’ll be hard pressed to buy or build a bike this cool and spec’d out for anything less. Willing to ship on the buyers dime, but I’d perfer a local sale nsmb article: https://nsmb.com/articles/3063-the-kona-shonky-inc/ I would entertain trades for a cool 90’s mtb. Ideally full rigid, but not any full suspensions. I’d like to build a klunker/commuter
