There's a $1100 Carbon Wheelset in Roval's 2019 Lineup
From what I can tell between the SL and carbon is that I am paying a $800 dollar premium to get a DT Swiss 240 hub and save 10grams on the 650b wheelset plus a different carbon layup. That's quite a bit of dough to save 10 grams.

Steve Smith Memorial DH: The Chainsaw Lives On
I recently visited Vancouver island and rode mt prevost, Cumberland, and Nanaimo. Every single ride we were greeted by pleasant locals that ended up showing some trails to us. The community on Vancouver island seems very strong and I can only imagine a lot of it stems from Stevie.

Video: The Heroic Finishes - Lenzerheide XC World Championships 2018
Ugh, im pretty sure there is no high altitude in marin county. I know she spent some time in Tahoe this year, but most of her training is at sea level to probably 4k ft if that. Didn't they say the course was roughly 1500 meters in elevation? That's not too high. Annika it seems just gassed herself when on the asphalt. When Kate saw Annika, its was like a wolf tasting blood. Plus Kate is a way better technical rider than Annika which is what really lost it for her. Great race anyways.

The last two women races in La Bresse and this race were awesome to watch. I've never watched one before but watched on replay both of them. It really puts into perspective how I pansy out on climbing all the time. haha.

Finished: The Froriders Ask Us Anything
I think the guys nailed this on the head. Take for example Snow Summit in Southern CA. They had 2.5 trails a few years ago, mostly black diamond and not very friendly to beginners. Experienced people were running into the beginners and it made everyones days miserable. Brand new riders aren't going to like that. And you know what, the season pass holding DH'er is going to get the most use out of his season pass and probably not spend a dime at the resort otherwise. Compare that to a family who rents all the bikes, gears, and buys food etc. at the resort. Catering to this group not only grows MTB but also paves way for more trails. Perhaps more new trails are being more sanitized, but there are still plenty of old school trails that will get your blood pumping.
