@DustOnCrust: ~Looks at all the wheels with decals plastered all over them! I guess those guys didn't get the memo. x_x Before I reply, I do value your opinion and it gave me grounds to think about decals and how they may affect truing a wheel. After buying my first set of NEW carbon wheels, knowing that I skim rocks a lot, yeah, I would like some extra protection and peace of mind considering that 95% of my rock strikes only cause superficial damage. I don't know if I will use this product, but I will be using something, be it a water/soap applied tint like film, or something else. I just know that I want to protect my investment as I enjoy the lifetime warranty on these wheels. They are Reynolds so the crash warranty is only for discounts and not free replacement unless the crash happened because of the wheel. The only time I see surface irregularities while truing, is when the decal is already damaged. If the decal is grabby but not damaged, I like to wipe down the wheel and apply a wax. I usually do this anyways, I keep a bottle of Griots All-in-One Ceramic Wax (The green bottle w/ red cap) just for wheels and frames. Standard Carnauba wax like Mothers California Gold works really well too but is not as long lasting.
