After a month and a half off the Enduro scene due to motorcycle commitments it was time to head to Eastridge for the fourth round of the British Enduro Series. We arrived just after midnight so quietly found a spot in the already full camping area and went straight to bed only to wake to some nice weather and epic views Shropshire had to offer at what turned out to be a great venue!

The format had changed once again back to the 3 stages per day with practice in the morning and race runs in the afternoon, I decided to head out 1 hour after practice opened both days so I wasn't hanging around to long between practice and race runs which seemed to work out quite well. With world champ Tracy Moseley (Trek Factory Racing) attending along with Leah Maunsell (Kona Factory) from Ireland it was going to be a tough weekend of racing.

All stages were in dry were bone dry creating a lot of dust and hidden roots along with small sharp rocks slightly larger than tennis balls which could have so easily ended anyone's day if caught wrong! We also had a really good mixture of pedalling sections, tight technical and pure flat out!

On day one I had some really dodgy moments which luckily I came out of on top however it must have cost me some time in some places and maybe made some back in others! Trying to compete against the likes of Tracy Moseley there would be know way of staying in touch with her times if I were to hold back in any shape or form. I finished the first day off in second place 39 seconds behind Tracy but with Leah right behind me with only 7 seconds separating us after 3 stages!

Day two didn't start well when both my front and rear valves decided to leak air and just would not seal so a quick stop off at the tred-shop.com shop in the paddock to see my mechanic Jono who soon sorted that out so I could head off for practice. Racing soon got underway and and i felt smoother on the bike which resulted in better times on all stages. After heading down the last hill and down the awesome finish straight I was more than happy to see I had done enough to grab second place behind the inspiring Tracy Moseley and to have extended the gap between me and Leah by 21 seconds.

Special thanks to the organisers and all the marshals, without them we wouldn't have such events. Big thanks to Dan Wyre for the cool photos and of course tred-shop.com for the super fast bike and best support crew!
