2010 Season Wrap-Up
The whistles are to let the spectators know when a rider is coming down so they don't cross the track at the wrong moment. I guess they can also be used to warn riders if someone has crashed further down but I think the marshalls have a flag they can wave.

This bike seems to good to be true. I'd say it's worth a bit more than £600 for the whole bike since there is one in my lbs for £1250.
