As the original poster states, that entrance through the ditch is difficult, the hardest part to make of the entire first climb so if you get past that you are golden provided you have enough lungs and legs to continue since the rest is still very hard to clean.

That is a brutal start - might want a bit of warm-up first - I made that damn thing clean from the road a few weeks ago and killed me! To think we used to sometimes make the old climb straight up from the ditch. New switchbacks are tough but not as tough as oldest school.
