This Slash frame is in excellent condition, and benefits from the remainder of Trek’s subsequent owner warranty. The frame was bought by a Trek employee as a 9.9 bike - he owned it for a short period of time, I then purchased it from him. I have the original invoice which dates the sale on 19/07/22. Trek’s subsequent owner warranty gives 3 years of cover from the original purchase date, meaning you’ll be covered until 18/07/25. I’m a self-confessed fair weather rider, for the past 2 years the bike has only been used between May and Sept and has only been used once since July this year. This Nomad has been bike mechanic built and as such it is ready to roll!! It has recently under gone a parts overhaul, nearly every part is new, it’s easier for me to list the components that are used; the forks and the brakes, that’s it! So it’s a 2020 frame in XL with the standard Rockshox Super deluxe shock. The forks are 2021 RockShox Yari 170, in superb condition. The brakes are SRAM Guide-R 4-piston with 200mm rotors front & rear. The new build parts include the following.. - Hope headset. - DT Swiss M1900 rims/370 hubs. - Maxxis Minion 2.4 WT DH Casing Tyres - set up tubeless. - SLX M7100 12sp drivetrain; Cranks, BB, Mech, Cassette, Chain, Deore Shifter. - Nukeproof Horizon saddle, BX Ascend 170 dropper. - Spank 785 bars, Funn Enduro stem. Before the build is judged, I’m well aware it doesn’t have Fox 38 kashimas, or carbon Reserve wheels, or AXS drivetrain, and that’s the reason why I’m not asking ridiculous money for it. There are plenty of battered £4k+ bikes are out there! Sure it’s nice to have all the fancy parts, but you pay a premium for it and ultimately take the risk on a bike with used parts that may need replacing. If you want a good solid basis to build your dream spec bike then this could be the bike for you.. and if the spec offends then sell the new components and buy the used ‘Gucci’ parts that you want. As I’ve already mentioned, only the brakes and forks have seen any use. The frame itself is of course used and has invisiframe fitted - there are some marks on this but that’s what it’s there for. Unfortunately there is one area on the non-drive side chainstay that the invisiframe failed to protect the bike from where it grazed a garden wall - see the photo, this is the only cosmetic blemish and is non-structural. The rest of the frame is super-tidy, I’ve photographed the down tube/BB shell so you can see there’s no damage! I will subsidise part of this cost making postage an attractive option for any perspective buyers, the fully insured cost is a lot more than the price you’ll pay.
