Passions are: biking on dirt, hockey, fly fishing, drums, anything outdoors, anything with my wife and kids!

Ride the Rocks with Richie Rude - Video
I have only seen EWS footage of him riding and he obviously looks like a very strong rider. This video catches something different -- he has massive style and flow. I was so impressed with both his riding and this video. I prefer these clips where you can hear the dirt and the freewheel. I also think that any World Cup or Enduro World Series racer is probably so much better than we would guess.

5 Questions I Want Answered - Opinion
@ThomDawson: Fully agree. Enjoy the ride. I had a 26" wheel Santa Cruz Blur and absolutely loved it so when it came time to buy a new bike, I bought a 650b wheel Santa Cruz Bronson (essentially the new and improved Blur). The Blur was awesome but the Bronson is better. The 650b rolls better. It just does! If the 26" wheel was the only option, I would happily keep riding it but the 650b works better for me so why wouldn't I want it? Innovation requires experimentation and trying new things. It's so great that mountain biking keeps growing. We have cross country, trail, downhill, free ride, park, slope style, downhill, trials, skate park. While it's possible to ride all those different disciplines on the same bike, it's much better to have bikes designed for the job you want them to do. One wheel size, one set of brakes, one seat post, and one drive train won't suit all riders and styles the same. Buy the bike (or bikes) that work for you and ride them as much as time allows.

Dumbing Down the Shore - Video
I think 'easier' is relative! This awesome video is way more about the amazing ability of Wade Simmons than the Rocky he is riding. Even if I was riding a dream wonder bike, I still couldn't ride like him (I can only dream!). It's way more about skill than the bike you are on.

Pinkbike Poll: How Often Do You Crash?
Fair enough. No disrespect intended. I also love to rip but my crash recovery time has begun to dictate some of my risk taking. As for Walter White....I literally am a Science teacher!

Pinkbike Poll: How Often Do You Crash?
I don't think throwing around the pussy word does much good for anybody and any level. I've been riding trails for nearly 30 years and I'm still very passionate about riding. My 15 year old son and my 10 year old daughter are both into riding as well. It's awesome to be able to ride with them and I want to continue that for as long as possible. Wait until you are almost 50 years old and then we will see what you think of 'pussies' that do not want to crash and be off the bike for 6 weeks or not be able to work and provide for their families. Sometimes you've got to think about more than yourself.

Pinkbike Poll: How Often Do You Crash?
Fully agree. I'm 46 and still crash every few rides but my crashes are MOSTLY pretty mild. I don't hit big jumps any more so the degree of consequence is definitely lower. Having said that, I've had a couple of concussions, a separated shoulder, and a pretty nasty neck injury in the past few years. I don't bounce any more -- I just hit the ground with a splat!!

Just Relax Already - Opinion
I love it when I come up behind someone that I'm climbing a little faster than. It gives me a great excuse to slow down and smell the roses!! I can climb fairly quickly but I'm not uber competitive and never rarely pass anyone (up or down) unless they pull off to the side. Even if they pull over, I usually stop and chat for a minute -- arguably the best part of our community.

Pinkbike Poll - What Would Be Your Two Wheeled Guilty Pleasure?
I've been mountain biking for 25+ years and never owned a DH bike. My latest is a Santa Cruz Bronson -- handles the downs very well and is an excellent climber. I guess I'm just an old guy that still likes to climb my bike to the top before coming down. I also like shuttling and lift access but 95% of my riding involves pedaling up first. I hate hike-a-bike.
