Intrusive Thoughts: I Bought a 1999 Kona Stab Dee-Lux
I think a loan of the Monster T from your museum to Dario is essential to finish this Intrusive Thoughts series.

Santa Cruz Nomad Mark 1 must go

$500 CAD
Medium (which is probably a large in current sizing) 2006 Santa Cruz Nomad Aluminum in Orange. You really need to like Orange. And aluminum. This bike does not have a dropper post, cage mounts, tubeless wheels, 1xanything, suspension lock out, glovebox or any carbon whatsoever. It was made to Free Ride and take a beating, but I’m a sissy and don’t do gap jumps or drops. It’s been to Whistler a couple of times, but most of its life has been on cross country or other low grade trails. I love this bike but I decided to join the current carbon and 29” wheel phase of biking when I started up again. It’s in remarkably good shape and was recently completely torn down for a full maintenance by the experts at Inside Line. Amazingly, it has the original: - Fox Talas 36 RC2 fork (with ~30 ridiculous increments of travel adjustment between 140-160 mm, as well as high and low speed compression and rebound adjustments), - Fox DHX AIR 5.0 shock, with propedal, rebound, bottom out and compression adjustments - Avid Juicy 7 brakes w/adjustable reach (I’ve only changed the pads, all levers and calipers are original and work) - WTB LASER V Seat (it’s a seat!) - Thomson Seat post (no dropper) - RaceFace Atlas low rise All Mountain Handlebar (I think this isn’t original, actually. Who would ride a bike with a 15 year old handlebar? I’m not crazy) - Lizard skin Grips (not just for baseball bats!) - FSA Stem (not OEM) - DT Swiss Hubs & Mavic 321 Rims (incredibly durable) 26 x 2.4 MAXXIS High Roller Front & 26 x 2.35 Larsen Rear (comes with many other 26” rubber for your gripping pleasure) - Shifters (yes, there are 2! Have you ever wondered what your life would be like with 27 gear options? If so, this is the bike for you!) - SRAM X-9 in the back, and apparently at some point I put a Shimano XT on the front. Both are controlled by SRAM shifters. - Shimano HG 11-32 9 speed cassette, with 971 chain - RaceFace Atlas 104 44-22 3 chainring and 175 mm cranks with RaceFace X-type bottom bracket (This was an upgrade I bought in 2011, forgot about and then had installed in 2020) All suspension was serviced by Inside Line and has about 15 hours of riding on it since. Do me a favour, but this for a kid that wants to ride but doesn’t have the money for carbon.
