Today's piece of life advice is brought to you by everyone catching a spring cold in the middle of a killer Van Island road trip: Have A Vitamin. Vitamins boost the immune system and help you fend off nasty colds that can get you down or put a damper on your good times. However, not all vitamins come in capsules. Sometimes when something is getting you down you gotta reach for something else. For many of us, including Dylan Siggers and co, bikes possess a potent ability to boost our spirits.
Have A Vitamin is the product of a week-long road trip around Vancouver Island. It captures that all-familiar feeling of good times on the road, two-wheeled adventures, and the memories made along the way. The plan for this trip was to have no plan. Join Forbidden ambassadors Dylan Siggers, Sophie Perrault, and Zak Mouseau for good times and creative interpretations of what it means to mountain bike. If this doesn’t give your stoke meter a boost, have a vitamin.
#ridedifferent | “Visiting Cumberland BC feels like going back in time to my hometown of Fernie but when I was a little kid. The town is small, full of excited people and with just enough slope that it feels like you’re coasting downhill to everything within biking distance.
Myself, Soph and Zak planned to head there right as winter was ending in the interior at the end of April. Neither Soph nor I had touched a bike yet this year and it felt like a wild change of season to go straight to summer mode. We spent the week living at Robin and Stephane’s house and could not be luckier. If you know Rob, she’s an incredible host. Thank you again for everything (if you read this).
We had little to no plan, but the plan always was to have no plan. Things seem to go best that way. We are very like-minded in the sense that we’re all just ski/snowboard jib kids, and our approach to biking is heavily inspired by a snow-sliding mentality. We look at features that aren’t supposed to be features and make something cool out of them. Zak is a master at finding jibs you would never think of and then pulling them out of his ass somehow in a wonderful way. Which often leaves us hours late for any kind of planned activity.
We hope you enjoy our video recapping a very special and fun trip for all of us. So fire up the airplay, and have a vitamin.”—Dylan Siggers |

The Ukee bike park is small and tech, but provided hours of entertainment.
It wouldn’t be a road trip without shooting a roll of ️35mm. Nuggets below, if you’re into that sort of thing. We sure like it.
