Jun 30, 2014Shimano PD-M545 Free-Ride Pedals
$50 CADLightly used set of Shimano PD-M545 Free-Ride Pedals. Retail at around $120.
Tough SPD pedal for all round use especially off-road riding
- Low maintenance sealed bearing cartridge axle
- Cleat tension adjustment
Highly supportive pedal with large alloy cage for greater foot stability. Designed for all round use with pop-up binding mechanism for easy entry and release. Pedal can be used with normal shoes, as the binding is pushed flat and the alloy cage supports the shoe.
Uses the SH-51 Cleats
Bike radar review: http://www.bikeradar.com/us/gear/category/components/pedals/product/review-shimano-pd-m545-pedal-13458/
"The Shimano M545 has a similar core to the M520, with extra support in the form of a cage surround. The downside is added weight, but that’s offset by the advantage of having a larger platform to hit – if you don’t engage right away, you can still pedal effectively, and you can unclip before any dubious terrain and still retain a reasonable degree of pedal control while having the confidence that you can dab quickly."
