Jun 19, 2021Specialized Hotrock 24”
$375 CADFor sale 2017 Specialized Hotrock Black/Red
Aside from colour little has changed on this bike in 2017.
You have checked around and the bikes shops are empty with no stock coming either until the fall or in many cases until next year. You've been madly watching Pinkbike, Craigslist and Vancouver Marketplace for the perfect kids bike only to find it's sold within 2hrs - 2 days of being posted. So here is your latest (or is that last?) before summer. Plenty of riding left in the summer, fall and early winter. Be prepared for keeping the kids busy this summer. What better way to social distance and stay healthy than to ride.
Great kids bike. It looks cool, rides well, has decent components without breaking the bank and heck its in amazing shape! Its inevitable, your kid will grow out of this bike maybe in 1-3 seasons but if you take care of it, it will likely still be worth $300+ so don't look at the total price being what your paying today but rather what this bike will cost you in the end... its the delta between now and when you sell it to the next excited kid!
On a serious note this bike has been treated well and ridden light. Largely on pavement and some very easy dirt walking trails. A couple of very minor nicks from my kid setting the bike down incorrectly and definitely not how I tried to teach her! Ill post loads of pictures to prove the point. This bike holds a water bottle well and if your so inclined the 3rd (big) ring can be taken off and you can put on a ring guard. The kids tend to only use the small ring anyways!
First come first serve.

You have checked around and the bikes shops are empty with no stock coming either until this late fall or in many cases until next year if your not already on the reserved list. So here is your latest (or is that last?) chance before the next COVID wave!!! There is also still plenty of riding to be had this fall and winter.
I cant say enough about this bike. It looks cool, rides well, has decent components without breaking the bank and heck its in amazing shape! Its inevitable, your kid will grow out of this bike maybe in 2-3 seasons but if you take care of it, it will still be worth $450-500 (or more) so don't look at the total price being what your paying today but rather what this bike will cost you in the end... its the delta between now and when you sell it to the next excited kid!

Rarely ridden. Great shape with the odd nick from improper setting of the bike down.
Still looking for that perfect Solution to your kids COVID blues. Been waiting patiently and looking daily at your local bike store for a cool bike but keep coming up empty handed because plain and simple stock is near empty across North America and when posted to craigslist, PinkBike and your local FB Market place they are gone in the first three hours? Well here is your next chance. Don’t wait around though because it will be gone fast.
Plenty of riding left in the season. Odds look high for a second wave. Pre-plan ahead all of those days the kids are sent back to be home schooled by us working parents. Buy yourself and the kid some freedom! And remember, what you put out today is only temporary as these bikes do a great job holding their value, even when there isn’t a pandemic!

May 18, 2020FOR "4" 440 Downhill Hard Tail
$400 CADIf you spent the late 90's or early 2000's in Williams Lake or Kamloops and were into the Mountain Biking scene, you will recall a boutique brand called FOR "For Our Riders". Designed by three local bikes shops with one being the one and only Red Shreds in WL.
This is a super slack and nimble hard tail downhill bike. Two words describe this frame BOMB PROOF! This was one heck of a bike in its day but it has been hanging in storage for approximately 9 years since I last rode it. It needs a tune up and the breaks need to be bled but the price is right. Currently rear brake works but front does not.
This bike would make a wicked park bike / dirt jump bike. I used it for the North Shore for a year and as all hard tails do, it makes you a better rider. Not the best peddler uphill due to tube, seat and head angles being quite aggressive and geared to nimble and aggressive downhill lines. its the dirt track and downhill this bike shines in. In Williams Lake and Kamloops, this bike rocks in the open fir forests.
Ive kept it for many years thinking I would build it back up into a fun hard tail but have run out of spare time and feel now is the right time to sell it to someone who is looking for a bike to beat up on but cant afford the newest. So, buy the burliest and throw what you got at this thing (after getting it tuned and bleeding brakes).
Medium or Large (dont recall. 30"-31" Stand over. Aggressive tube angle. I'm 5'10" and fits likely 5'8 to 6'0"
Weight? Yep a solid 34 lbs (Using handheld suitcase scale). Again this bike is bomb proof.
I make no claim that this bike looks perfect but I believe its all cosmetic.
Fork - Rock Shock Psyio 80-125mm
Tires are 26" 2.65 Kujo DH
Front Rim - Excalibur Anti-snakebite
Rear Rim - ALEXR MS DM24
Cranks- Blackspire
Ring God chain guardhayes
Hayes Hydraulic Disk Brakes
Shimano LX Derailer
Speeds 7x2
