Cannondale RZ 120 RZ120 small

$195 GBP
Cannondale RZ120 2 Frame Small Absolutely perfect bike for Welsh and UK trail centres. The compact geometry, short chain stays and beefy tubes make up for a bike that loves to be coasted along all kinds of trails from the long fire road climbs at Afan to tight and technical natural woodland trails. The small frame size would be suitable for most riders from approx. 5’5’’ to around 5’8’’. Possibly up to 5’10’ if you prefer a more nimble ride as the frame is able to cater for a very long post compared to most other full suspension bikes. Also included in the sale are the reducer cups for the massive 1.5’’ head tube, meaning the frame can either be ran with a conventional 1 1/8’’ fork or a 1.5’’ fork if the reducers are removed. Along with this I have included the headset bearings (sealed cartridge type), front derailleur, Cannondale seat clamp, Cannondale seat post, Shimano SLX front shifter pod and a full set of Shimano chain rings and bolts. The condition of the frame and components is excellent. Having only covered around 15 hours riding, there are minimal chain slap marks and cable rub. The headset is still beautifully smooth, as are all the frame bearings. Bottom bracket threads are immaculate as are all the bottle cage and cable guide mounts. Note that as pictured there is no rear shock in the sale, hence why the listing is priced well below your average full suspension Cannondale frame. Measurements of the stock air can are 184 x 44mm, which I believe suspension tuning companies such as TF Tuned and MOJO would be able to adjust most rear shocks to. I have seen various Rockshox and Fox air sprung rear shocks sell on ebay for as little as £35. Payment on collection is possible, and would of course mean there is no postage and packing to pay. Any questions please message me via pinkbike and I will respond as soon as possible.

Cannondale RZ120 2 17" Small HOPE/Rock shox

$1395 GBP
Cannondale RZ 120 2 2012, size S 17’’ Cannondale are usually renowned for their slightly controversial and some what ugly bikes. However this is clearly not the case here. The Cannondale RZ120 2, is their much more sensible and less specific all round aggressive cross country trail bike. This means it’s a bike that has had its frame and geometry set up for maximum fun and efficacy; as opposed to a razor sharp and razor comfortable race bike or a marshmallow soft and energy sapping ‘enduro’ or ‘freeride’ bike. The OEM spec of the RZ120 2 was good, but slightly less well equipped than other bikes for the same and sometimes a little less cash. However this one off spec has had over £1000 spent improving it’s built-to-a-price stock component set up – and where it counts too. The wheels are BRAND NEW lightweight Stans ZTR Crest tubless ready rims, on the revolutionary Hope Pro 2 Evo stainless bearing hubs. These wheels are essentially transferable to any mountain bike. The hubs use convertible cups, which can suit either QR, 15mm or 20mm on the front. The rear is also convertible from QR to the full on 145/150x12mm bolt through. These wheels have an RRP of £330 The lower spec 120mm Rockshox Recon QR solo air forks were replaced with the heavier duty 130mm Rockshox Reeba RLTti 20mm. These forks use the same titanium ‘Blackbox’ damper as you see on the pro’s machines. Essentially what this means is what ever your weight or riding style, these forks will track straight and true and swallow from the smallest ripples to the largest hits with ease. Meaning you spend more time enjoying the down-hills rather than fearing every root/rock. Also the lockout is activated/deactivated via the bar mounted switch, so no need to reach down to improve the bikes efficiency on the climbs. These forks have an RRP of £700 The fiddly stock Avid brakes have been replaced with the much higher performing Hayes Stroker, combined with plenty of pad life left and large 203mm discs will be sure to pull you up to a stop in even the harshest conditions. The bike had only been used at 2-3 times at a Welsh trail centre, and a small handful of times around my local Mendip trails. As a fair weather cyclist this bike has rarely seen any mud deeper than half an inch, so as you would expect the frame pivots and bearings are completely tight and free of play. There are no marks/scrapes in either of the front suspension stanchions, nor the rear shock’s body. There are but a couple of marks on the frame, partly from cable rub and partly from loading the bike in and out of the car & using friends car racks. As mentioned the wheels are brand new, so the hubs haven’t even bedded in yet & are as true as the moment they left the factory. As also previously mentioned the brake pads still have a healthy amount of material left, and are far from needing a bleed. The front and rear suspension has barely had 10 hours riding, so is still not due a service for a long time. The single job that may need to be performed on the bike to have it riding as it was from new would be to have its rear gear cable replaced. Most bike workshops charge around £15 for this simple task. The RRP of the bike alone is £1799, combined with the £330 wheels and £700 forks push this bikes performance and value up to most off-the-peg super bikes at a fraction of the price and all the same fun. So why pay more when a bargain is to be had right here! Please contact me on 079 6969 8727, and for any questions you may have. Viewing is highly recommended, and cash on collection is preferable although I am willing to post at the price of the postage and packaging. Happy riding!
