Giant Trance Advanced SX (Med) w/ upgrades.

$4400 CAD
2014 Giant Trance Advanced SX (size medium) with upgrades (see below for full spec). Starting from the very capable stock Giant package (carbon frame, internal cable routing, 650b, low shock placement, 1x11, Talas, CTD lockout, high-end piggy-back shock, Kashima coat front and rear, aggressive geometry, top end SRAM everything, stealthy paint job) this little baby has been my project dream bike build, was very well maintained, is in excellent working condition and has only about 5 months of riding on it (May-September 2014). The bike's on-trail performance flows from it checking every box for a competition-spec enduro bike - as a result it allows you to tackle all situations with less effort, increased control, more confidence and more flow (I heard once that a better guitar is more fun to play too...). Unfortunately for me, after deciding for a few reasons to try moving up a size with this bike I recently tried a small Reign Advanced and just feel that the fit is better for me, so the time has come to pass this girl on to another good home. With its Talas travel-adjustment to bring the front end down, on-the fly CTD shock lockout, extendable seatpost and upgraded seat I find it to be a very capable climber that allows you to comfortably power through the climbs before switching its personality for the descents. Once you reach the summit and make the on-the-fly switch to downhill mode, the components packages comes alive to make it perform like a mini downhill bike, only much lighter, and as a result more nimble, agile and playful (read: pure joy on the trail!!). From the solid stock performance of the Trance Advanced SX the upgrades equate to better steering feel and more leverage on the bars (shorter stem, wider bars), stronger braking power with decreased fade (larger rotors) and a much comfier seat (a must for long days in the saddle...). Before I purchased this steed I decided I wanted to create one do-everything bike that could equally take on all-day epics, dirt jumps or technical descents, and from my 5 months with my Trance riding all of them I can confidently vouch for the fact it performs in all of these areas amazingly. This sort of solution is not cheap to achieve, but it's easily less than what you would spend to buy a few mediocre bikes suited for different purposes, where you would have to adjust to each one every time you ride, the build quality would not be as good, it wouldn't fit you as well or be as adjustable and honestly you wouldn't enjoy it as much. The magic of high-end enduro bikes is you can pedal out your door to any trail (or road trip with 1 bike if that's what you are feeling...) and you are always both both comfortable and confident on your nimble yet capable little friend who you are perfectly in tune with. The era of needing to invest in two or three bikes is coming to a close and if you invest in the right solution, technology is allowing enduro bikes to take over multiple segments. If this is a value proposition that makes sense to you then its worth it to invest in the right bike that is up for the challenge of tackling competing goals and is well-built enough to last (enduro bikes are lightly built, after all...). This bike does all that, so if you are interested please shoot me a message and I can give you more info!
