Heh, I bet! I was wondering how long it was going to take before you took the leap - the bug clearly bit you hard, so it was only a matter of time. How's the riding going so far? What are the main differences you're noticing?

Nice! Which bashguard is that, by the way? Doesn't look familiar to me, I'm thinking of going for a twin-and-bashguard crankset myself, or possibly even ditching the front mech altogether and going for a single chainring - I'd miss the big ring on long non-technical (ie., asphalt or gravel) downhills, but that'd be about it, and so much of my riding is on technical trails that I don't think it'd really be an issue. My outer chainring has been more use as a bashguard than as a part of the transmission over the past couple of years, anyway. Likewise, the small chainring would come in handy on lon,g steep, non-technical climbs (and I do encounter those occasionally...), but with a decent spread across the rear cassette, I wouldn't actually be losing too much. Hmm.

Gorgeous. Remind me again why I don't live in Canada?

Also, this photo (http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/4768274/) was taken in exactly the same place about 4 years ago, only at a somewhat different time of year. I should have thought to take the same picture in midwinter this past year, since I was over that lake on skis quite a few times, what with it being so close to where I live. I'll do that next year.

Heh. Over my twitching, still-warm dead body.

How I didn't go over the handlebars, I will never know. In my defence, the deep mudpool was cunningly-disguised under a layer of snow.
