Feb 9, 2013Retro Sirius Salvo ON EBAY 99P START
$1234 GBPI have a Sirius Salvo road bike for sale. Sirius were a company based in dudley in the 80's/90's. They hand made steel frames and put reasonably good components on, which is what i have here for you today. Perfect for a fixie conversion.
The frame is reynolds 531 as is the fork.
groupset is campagnolo mirage in reasonably good condition.
Front wheel is a campagnolo omega.
Rear wheel is a mavic reflex.
Bars are Cinelli as is the stem.
Selle italia flite saddle (the first of the lightweights) rip on the right hand side.
campagnolo downtube shifters.
unbranded levers. (for simplicity)
Brakes are Shimano 600's.
Pedals are shimano spd's (ill sell the shoe plates with it.)
Thomson seat post.
Kenda Kontender tyres.
Campagnolo veloce headset.
It also has very nicely fitted mudguards.
Obviously for its age it has its bad points, but they dont go any further than a couple of paint chips and one small ding. Bottom bracket will probably need replaced but its still got a bit of life.
All in all id say its in pretty good condition for its age and would be a lovely bike for someone who can appreciate a classic. I am a fully qualified mechanic and have made sure everything is in working order, I gave the wheels a full service just the other day and wrapped a new bar tape.
If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask.
Cheers,
Matt.

Specialized Stumppumper Concept Bike - The Ultimate Pump Track Weapon
Thats exactly right! Things like hydraulic brakes, when they first came out they would have cost a fortune. The guys that have lots of money buy these things before anyone else and then the company can afford to make more and more therefore making it cheaper (or something along those lines), then everyone does it and it is affordable for everyone. Its like hydraulic gears that are coming out, they wont stay £300 for a derailleur forever, give it a couple of years and they will be much much cheaper. You see the same idea everywhere, tv's washing machines etc etc
