Cycling nut in his early thirties, who loves everything bike, especially if it has to do with mountain bikes! Been riding for 22 years and still can't get enough of the sport in all its guisses. A makor fan of DH and enduro. Especially fond of mega technical DH trails such as those littering the Chamonix Valley. Rocks, roots and gnarl equal a very happy Ed.

UCI Aiming for 5 Round Snow Downhill World Cup in 2020
@nouseforaname: this is only about the olympics for the UCI and it’s naive to thinks otherwise given that the IOC made an explicit statement about 5-6 years ago saying that downhill mountain biking would only ever be included in the Winter Olympics and never the summer. It is not a matter of “inventing” a new sport as snow DH has been around for years (think about the old Winter x-games and the on going European Winter snow DH races).

UCI Aiming for 5 Round Snow Downhill World Cup in 2020
Possibly because the UCI intending on bidding for DH as an Olympic discipline. DH would only be logistically possible with the Winter Olympics given that the Winter Olympics necessitate reasonable sized mountain with chairlift access for alpine DH/Super G skiing

Fox Factory Plans to Move HQ from California to Georgia [Updated]
@Golden-G: sadly agree with you. When you speak out the truth you are labelled a prophet of fake news. How absurd that the speaking the truth is twisted by idiots and made out to be fake/untrue. Economics/facts are Economics. Just because individuals don’t like hearing the truth or, are such narcissists that they can’t handle hearing it does not make true facts fake!

Evil Releases New 140mm 29er - The Offering
Bought a wreckoning a month ago. By far and away the vest bike I have ever wridden. A downhill bike that rips uphill and wants to be thrashed both up and down. Nothing beats it at all.

Tech Randoms - Lenzerheide DH World Champs 2018
@rivercitycycles: you will have both shear and bending stress. The only instance that you do not have shear stress/where the shear stress is equal to zero is along a principle plane, in which instance the only stress is at 90 degrees to the principle plane and as such direct stress

Tech Randoms - Lenzerheide DH World Champs 2018
@MmmBones: the shear stress on the stem bolts should remain constant along the length of the bolts so long as there is no contact between the bolt and spacer. In the instance of the spacer(s) suddenly moving (as in of kilter impact) the instantaneous contact at velocity (v), with acceleration (a), and equivalent to mass (m) would give rise to a change in shear force at the point of contact equal to (m x a) divided by the area of the bolt at the point of contact. My guess is that the spacers might have some kind of male/female step to prevent shear stress changes on the bolts. So to sum up you are bang on the money

Inside The Tape: Les Gets Downhill - Crankworx Les Gets 2018
would be awesome if this track were on the World Cup circuit-I agree. Red bull however would probably insist on turning it into a bike park track
