Flat bar restoration of Vintage Bottecchia Road Bike

$625 CAD
Frame: Bottecchia Campione del Mondo built by Carnielli (circa 1966) using Columbus CroMo tubing. 58 cm. seat tube (centre to centre), 58 cm top tube (centre to centre). Paint stripped and frame polished to bare steel then treated with Permalac self-etching clear coat. Internals treated with Crown rust-proofing. Decals: Cyclomondo (vinyl recreation – new) Crankset: Factory Five with Lattice chainring 47T cog (new) Freewheel: Shimano single speed 17T cog (new) - this is not fixed. Chain: KNC Inox S10, 1/8th inch, stainless steel (new) Bottom Bracket: Shimano BB-UN55, sealed bearings, JIS square taper (new) Headset: Dia-Compe threaded (new) Stem: Selcof quill 110 cm. (new) Brake calipers: Dual caliper side-pull Dia-Compe BRS101 (new) Brake Pads: Bdop Cycling extended brake pads (new) Brake levers: J&L (new) Saddle: Selle Italia Storica leather (new) (Selle Italia leather care canister included) Wheels: Damco 27x1¼ with JoyTech hubs (new) Tires: Continental Ride Tour Extra 25 cm. (new) Handlebars: Selcof alloy 42 cm. Grips: Brooks/Ergon leather (new) Peddles: Rock Brothers (new) Bell: Oi Knog (new) I built this up for myself with quality components and after a dozen or so rides I decided it was a bit too big for me. With exception to the frame and seat post all components are new. I suggest this would be best for a rider that is between 6’ and 6’ 4”. Rides well - silent, smooth and agile.
