Round two of the Victorian Endurance Series for 2016 was held at Lysterfield Park, Victoria, Australia on the 22nd of May. The Lysterfield District Trail Riders (LDTR) hosted the 3hour/ 6hour Team and Solo endurance race, which involved over 450 riders. All of the profits raised from the race will be going back into improving the mountain biking trails and the mountain biking community at Lysterfield Park.

The race was a huge success due to the 24+ LDTR volunteers who gave up their weekend to help set up, marshal, handle registration, the sponsors who donated in total over $15,000 worth of prizes, and Parks Victoria who put in the extra effort to make sure the trails were all clear and safe from dangerous trees.

The Lysterfield District Trail Riders (LDTR) are a local mountain bike club, managed by a bunch of volunteers who also enjoy mountain biking. We look after all the mountain bike trails within Lysterfield Park. Many of our tasks include maintaining and building trails, organising mountain bike races, holding social ride days, communicating with other stakeholders and being a voice for those who have an interest in our sport.

LDTR works alongside Parks Victoria to ensure that the trails are sustainable and also to help grow the sport and visitor numbers to the park. Lysterfield Park was the event site of the 2006 Commonwealth Games XC State MTB course. LDTR have grown the network of trails substantially over recent years and love seeing new faces willing to help out.

Don't know why but I never expected to see Lystie on the front page of PB. Great stuff.

Sadly, it is only shown to those who have their Pinkbike profile location set to Melbourne... but it's still awesome to get the club and park on the site.

@NathanielTeh: ah fair enough. Either way, good to see my local on PB.

Without the volunteers there'd be no Lysty! Great work and good to see this bike park on pinkbike!
