@RBalicious: this seems like an argument for eBikes. Quantity (time up hill) is greater on bikes. Quality (time downhill) is higher on eBikes.

@vtracer: Inserts and XC tires. I like Tubolight because it's light. I also really liked Spinergy wheels (fusion fiber spoke) because of the damped feeling. But inserts and low tire pressure make a ton of difference on a hardtail.

Interesting, inserts in the rear seem to be all that the pros want. I wonder what this would look like with XC racers. That's the last category to see if the inserts are still used.
