Queenstown isn't a City, It's a town, permanent population 12,000. Yes the LOCALS are laidback, relaxed and just enjoy being there. Everyone's motivated to live life to the fullest, find a passion & enjoy it, and not into the rat-race of career, money & status. Queenstown isn't the real world, Its way way better.
