Trails - It's A Way Of Life

Mar 23, 2010 at 7:30
by Brendon Orton
So winter is slowly disappearing and we are getting longer days!
It's time for us to get our shovels, rakes, brushes and wheel barrows out!
For our endless tweaks and repairs.........
..And building of new jumps.
I've never done this before but i want to update each week with what we have got done.
So when it comes summer, we can really appreaciate what we have done!
So heres the story of the Trails so far:Breif History:
If i am right these trails have been around since around 2005/6.
I have been going up there for about 4 years and jumping them for 2 years.
A lot has changed since i first started riding here.
Riders have come and gone but heres a list of the locals that have been around for a fair while:
Matt
Bren
James
Liam
Asa
Nico
Ben
Sam.
These are the locals.
Set's have been built, set's have been destroyed and now finally we are in a position to set out firm plans and stick with them.

So here's the set thats been there since the start:

The legendary berm and 4th Big
Rider: Alex

All these photo's were took by an Up and coming Filmer and Photographer check him out on here: Nico-T
or check his videos on youtube:
Nicotunervideos.

All the photo's you see there are from last summer.
We really only had one set running.
So we knew this year we needed to make the place better so about 3 weeks ago we decided to build a new medium Set:
photographs by me.

2nd Medium
we layered these jumps straight away and the whole set is nearing completion.
we managed to test them pretty quickly after finsihing them and now we are in the process of tweaking these.

Once that was done, we really wanted a change on the bigger set, so we set about discussing ideas and one idea stuck out from the crowd so here it is.

We decided to get rid of the trails legendary berm and have a hipped racer through some trees next to the 3rd medium and then into a 5th jump this being a big step up trick jump.

We have only just got this racer done and dug out most of the bombhole.
I'll post images up on the next blog.

Thanks to the riders who helped out and heres one of Nico turners video from the trails enjoy......

 Looking good mate....
Imagine doing one of these for Hemlock.... Razz
It'd be like "Yeah, someone started this, not sure who though, then some BMX'ers started something else, and in the end nothing major happened...."
