Fabien Barel Suffers Multiple Fractures in Heavy Crash During Testing
@mwysel: It was a heavy season yeah... I was hit by a car the 11yh of may 2021. From bottem to top I had a detached periosteum on my big right toe, a very bad hematoma on my left leg, both knees were so badly bruised I wasn't allowed to walk for 2 months. I broke T4, T5, T7, T8, T9 vertabrea, and I had a open head woud in the form of an Y where the top part was folded open and bone was visible. I was scalped from the hairline. I needed 19 stiches to close the wound. Off course I had a big concussion and was unconscious for about 10 minutes. I was in the stroke unit for 3 days, 3 days in intensive care and onother 7 days in regular hospital. One year later on the 12th of may 2022 I had an epilectic seizure in my car on the highway doeing 120kp/h. I hit the mid divider and again broke 3 vertabrea, T11, T12 and L1. I was in the stroke unit again for 3 days and 6 days in regular hospital. Those 2 years were bad... I still have pain, but can walk, no more seizures (with medication), so I'm on the mend... Standing sitill for long times still gives me alot off back pain. But MTB is still a joy, for shorter trips only, but I'm so happy I can still ride... Hopfully this was the worst to happen in my life... Getting married next year in march, So life is looking good again ;-)

As I have broken 8 vertabrae with big head trauma, I can say that revalidation is not a joy. Keep strong and don't give up, evrything will be fine, but as mentioned above, take it easy the first couple of years. Head trauma is no joke!

Zinn Cycles Launches 32er XC Full-Suspension Bike
I'm one of those tall folks that really can use a big bike like this. I did the eroica last weekend on a 66 Koga-Miyata and when you look at that bike, the wheels look to small for the frame. All my bikes look weird because I always need the beggest frame and then I need special seat posts just to get me in the right posistion. To give you an idea of my problem, my legs are from ground to balls 106cm. That's al lot off leg to find anything that will fit, especially in these long and slack times where the seattubes only seem te get shorter and shorter.
