Fox X2 damper cartridge bleed

Fox says you can service X@ damper cartridges w/o bleeding the whole shock as long as you vacuum bleed the cartridge before reinstall. Seems to be true. This one turned out good anyway.

Customer had this shock serviced at another shop and still had a leakdown issue. I guess the other shop didn't own a Park Tool Soapy Water Spray Bottle, (SWSB-1.2) Problem was the valve body-to-eyelet O-ring. Beanie's Bike Shop. We have Nitrogen. We do shock service. We do mail order.

Both Schrader valves removed and the cap pushes back means the damper is full of air and the IFP is up against the air cap. Typical of X2s. All it needed was an oil change to restore damper function and eliminate squelchy sounds. #beaniesbikeshop

Depressurized the can and IFP and STILL had a lot of pressure behind the bleeder plug. There was a lot of air in that X2's damper. I guess this is why Fox recommends rebuilds @ 125hrs. We do mail order service.

This 2006 RP3 was slamming thru the first half of it's travel on compression and slamming thru the last half on rebound. Had a HUGE amount of gas on the oil side. Oil change +IFP charge = fixed.

Balancing spoke tension and basic truing

This isn't a tutorial. It's just the "meaty" part of a build where I'm plucking spokes and using the tone to help decide which spokes to adjust to bring the wheel into true and balance spoke tension at the same time. . After this stage I get out the tensiometer and check/adjust both actual spoke tension values and dish.

Just a short video of the better half of my morning commute. This is Canyon Rim Trail on the east side of Los Alamos and a little bit of NM502 at the end. Not often that you see this much curvy pavement with no cars on it. Gotta watch out for the pedestrians somewhat, though.

This is what I think of as the "back way" into Valles Caldera National Preserve. It splits off the trail between Canada Bonita and Guaje Ridge and drops in on an abandoned access road. Lots of fun until you get a bug in your eye. Just sayin... Bike is my BME Design B8 laminated bamboo w/ GravityWorx Javelina28 carbon wheels.
