Over $3K invested including recent service to fork lowers and tune up, brake bleed, etc. This Gates Carbon belt drive bike runs like butter and climbs like a mountain goat. Super low maintenance and the steel soaks up the gnar and can take way more abuse than carbon. I am the second owner of this bike and according to Strava I logged less than 300 miles on this over 2 seasons...and it’s time for a new home. Best part!? Schlumpf Mountain Drive, effectively making this bike a “dinglespeed”. Installed and professionally serviced by Cyclemonkey in Richmond, CA. The Schlumpf Mountain Drive, which has a 2.5 reduction ratio, offers a low gear (granny) for super steep climbing. To shift to the low gear, a rider simply has to tap a button in the middle of the right side crank arm with their right heel. To shift back to the high gear, the rider taps a matching button on the left crank with their left heel. This heel-activated shift system eliminates the need for a shifter and cable on the handlebars, keeping the bike’s cockpit uncluttered. It also provides a simple, adjustment free option for changing gears. Bike has some patina from trail use (as pictured) but all cosmetic.
