you are right. nearly every trail i ride on is non-motorized. also i think slightly too technical for the kind of weakling that would try these. the people i am talking about would crash a mountain bike or a dirt bike, so i have no reason to believe they wouldn't crash their e-bike as well.
the idea of more service and maintenance while getting less of a workout each time doesn't appeal to me
