Ibis' New HD4 - Review
agreed, the new 2017 fz09 is in my wishlist, and yeah, most motorbike companies are focusing on making naked bikes. The ricerockets are a thing of the past (90's - early 2000's) since they are a pain in the ass to you in normal streets. Unless you do trackdays / racing, I don't see why a supersport bike is in need. (you CAN take a FZ09 to track and still have a grin in ur face) I think that compares to DH vs enduro bikes. DH rigs are so specific and not so versatile. Enduro bikes can handle tough terrain and be very fast, yet can climb and be an all rounder. If you go only into the enduro segment, I agree as well. Maybe some brands should offer a bit more hooliganish bikes since I bet 90% of end users don't really race. If that 90% end up racing, most of them wont really care if they place 5th or 47th. Another comparo is Off Road bikes vs MX bikes. KTM and other european brands started launching in between bikes and everybody wants them it seems.

A Brief History of Formula's Disc Brakes
@deeeight: why are you so pumped about this? from Formula's response, it seems it's statement is technically correct, albeit some facts (or even the wording of the phrase) that you can argue wether correct or incorrect. If you are paying Pinkbike a $200,000 Harvard tuition to get "history lessons", then O.K, get all fired up for being fed fake stats, but jeez, it's just an article that hurt nobody. Pinkbike needs payed articles in order to survive and keep this site running. If you like PB, enjoy its content, and would like to keep visiting this website, you need to accept the fact that eventually some payed articles will show up.

Dissecting Specialized's Move to Öhlins Suspension
Marquez, Lorenzo, and Rossi use Ohlins, so yeah, buy ohlins --> win races. You shouldn't expect Ohlins to set the bar right after their first try, you have to give them time to perfect their products. I do believe they can make an equal or better shock / fork than the top brands, its a matter of time and commitment. They are coming into a new market with well established wouldn't expect Rockshox to make a home run on their first attempt at a MotoGP fork, would you?
