@justinfoil: I encourage you to do your own research. I didn't prior to posting this, but the data is out there and confirms my argument: as POE increases, so does hub drag.

@justinfoil: In a ratchet hub with pawls, the pawls are constantly in contact with the drive ring. More pawls = more POE = more contact = more drag. In a star ratchet, the teeth are also constantly in contact again, more teeth = more contact. Addtionally, as the size of the teeth increases, the POE are reduced - only so many teeth can fit in a fixed space. In both instances, where is the noise coming from and why does the frequency of the noise increase with POE?
We don't see data because the industry wants so sell us hubs with higher POE. Note how careful this press release is to avoid discussing it.
