Details Announced for ITRS - 'A Standardized Trail Rating System for a Safer, More Accessible Mountain Biking Experience'
Would really love to test the app to see the results of evaluating some local trail here. There are some good adds that were missing, like exposure, physical level, remoteness,… One major issue we have when rating our local trails is if we use any of the rating systems, the easiest trails would start as red and we would quickly run out of colors. For example … we have some red trails that have drops, doubles and tech stuff … and by those ratings should be a black line. But then we have some harder trails that are way more difficult to ride but would fall in the same category. So we end up marking some trails as easier so riders have a better differentiation. A great way of handling this is using an alternating line or mixed color. Have seen it in use at some bike parks.
