Spank presents Official Scandinavian Whip Off Championships

While we’re still reveling in the craziness of the mud and rain splattered Crankworx Les Gets Official European Whip Off Championship presented by SPANK, our Norwegian cousins are amping up towards the frenzy of the next Whip Off installment at this year’s Hillbilly Huckfest in Norway.

Brace yourselves for the first ever Official Scandinavian Whip Off Championships presented by SPANK! The event is going down in Hillbilly Bike Park on the 29th of July at 5.pm and is one of the highlights in the jam-packed 2016 Hillbilly Huckfest programme.

Hillbilly Huckfest will crown the best whippers in the classes: Best Hunk, Best Chick and Best Junior.

Practical information
Registration starts 3pm at the JBS/Spank tent
The contest starts 5pm
Finals starts at 6pm
Prize ceremony: Best Junior at 6.45pm
Main prize ceremony: 9.45pm

“We just love bringing the hype of the Whip Offs to bike festivals around the world,” said Spank Communications Head Angela Stockley. “It’s the one event that is not taken too seriously by rules and regulations. Riders all agree that its that session at events where they all just get to have fun with their buddies without the concerns of podium positions and rankings.”

Hillbilly Huckfest in Norway is the obvious choice for the Spank Official Scandinavian Whip Off Championship. “Where else will we find a thousand bearded bike maniacs cheering the whippers between live band performances and motocross madness?”

The Official Scandinavian Whip Off Championship raises the total of Official Whip Off Championships presented by Spank to six around the globe. These include:

• Official Argentina Whip Off Championship presented by Spank – hosted at S. American iXS DH Cup
• Official Chile Whip Off Championship presented by Spank – hosted at S. American iXS DH Cup
• Official Oceania Whip Off Championship presented by Spank – hosted at Crankworx Rotorua
• Official European Whip Off Championship presented by Spank – hosted at Crankworx Les Gets, and
• Official World Whip Off Championship presented by Spank – hosted at Crankworx Whistler
• Official Scandinavian Whip Off Championship presented by Spank – hosted at Hillbilly Huckfest, Norway

MORE ABOUT HILLBILLY HUCKFEST


Hillbilly Huckfest has established itself as one of the leading bike festivals in Norway. Festival Manager Magnus Tveito turned his family farm into a bike festival back in 2009, and the rest, as they say, is history!

The Hillbilly Bike Park is a varied and well-built park that is located next to the festival camp. The park is great fun for both beginners and experts. Since 2013 pro cyclist Mads “Makken” Haugen has invited a handful of the world´s best Freeride athletes to ride, party and to compete in the spectacular Fest Series show. Hillbilly Huckfest is the original Fest Series event and is getting a lot of attention for that.

bike show! A unique course is built for this occasion. Large jumps, stalling tricks,

In 2015, JBS Sports, Norwegian distributor for SPANK, initiated Norway's first SPANK Whip-Off to the stark-raving-crazy Norwegian crowds at the Hillbilly Huckfest. Now… it's an institution! Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for takeoff at the 2016 Hillbilly Huckfest OFFICIAL SCANDINAVIAN WHIP OFF CHAMPIONSHIPS presented by SPANK! A long weekend of bearded Norwegian bike-maniacs, pumping music and a Scandinavian festival vibe second-to-none!

This years festival pass includes:
Access to the shuttle busses, guided tours, participation to Hillbilly Enduro, lift tickets to Hillbilly Bike Park, camping spot, entrance to concerts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Fest Series show, festival dinner on Saturday and all the happenings during the festival. Ticket needs to be exchanged to wristband at the festival office.
