Video: Are We Finally Ready for the Automatic Groupset?
I can’t imagine how frustrating it would be this thing constantly shifting into the wrong gear when I can see the trail ahead and know what gear I need in advance.

They’re going to solve the gearbox limitations by putting motors in them. I predicted this years ago and it’s now come out.

Terrible marketing by Shimano. They show us how fantastic manual shifting in the 911 is, then try to sell us automatic shifting like you get in a Chevy Equinox.

North Shore Billet Announces New Canadian-Made Talon Cranks
I’d argue the differentiator in cranksets are the design details of how it attaches to the spindle and how the bearing preloader works. The weight differences aren’t all that meaningful, especially in an era of 1100g tires. Sram GX crankset is objectively the best cost:performance design out there until you need a 2’ breaker bar to remove the arm from the spindle and until you work with the flimsy plastic preloader. Also, 7075 is a lot stronger than 6061 which is used for typical forged cranks, so presumably makes up some of the difference from a forging. Also, there is so little grain flow in a simple forging like a crankarm that it wouldn’t improve fatigue strength all that much, and introduces potential for forging defects (laps).

Staff Rides: Mike Kazimer's Coil Shock Trek Fuel EX
That SRAM brake cable will make a lot more sense when the (inevitable) handlebars with brake cable routing arrive. The cables will go inside the bar about 2” inboard of the brake master cylinder and go down thru the stem and into the headset. It’ll be hell.

If it works, I love the idea of a cable clamp that doesn’t fray the cable. It’s so frustrating when your cable is unusable after being clamped down once.

And inexplicably, even though it’s wireless, it’ll have a cable coming out of the derailleur at an extreme oblique angle.

SRAM getting what it deserves for using Chinese engineering/manufacturing. Sure, lots of profit in the short term, but you’re just training up an inevitable competitor for the future.
