Aug 19, 2017Rocky Mountain Thunderbolt 799
$3300 CADThis bike has been a dream to ride and over the past couple of years, it’s easily become my favourite bike to do anything and go anywhere. Point it in any direction, up or down, and it’ll happily get you through the trail and put a smile on your face. It feels bigger than its (130/120mm) travel, maintains a very efficient pedaling platform, and stays playful and poppy with short chainstays. This combination makes tackling steep punchy climbs a breeze, either seated or standing. It’s even more fun when you turn it downhill.
I’m only selling because I have recently gotten the urge to spend a boatload on a new rig and so that means this beauty needs a new home. I upgraded the main pivot bushings to bearings as well as replaced all bushings at the end of last season. The wheels are hand-built and I have seriously never turned a nipple to keep them true. This Thunderbolt is one of a kind and was built custom from the frame up. It also weighs close to nothing. Spec is as follows. Feel free to drop me a message if you have any questions or want more info. Please text or call, I don't check pinkbike too often.
