At What Point Does Mountain Biking Go From Inspiring to Unrelatable?
Totally agree. On the last big group ride I did about 80% of the guys I was riding with were on e-bikes. It was just me and one other guy on non-motorized bikes. Part of the fun of doing group rides is that you’re all sharing in the same experience. It’s just not the same thing experience whenthe majority of your group crushes the climbs literally without breaking a sweat and spends 20 minutes waiting for you to show up panting and drenched. That and inevitably the rampage bros in the group wanted to huck the cliff drop on our loop—I am juat not into taking those kinds of risks and it seems like that’s what a lot of riders (at least where I live) seem drawn to.

Specialized Patent Reveals Demo Two-Chain Drivetrain Layout
Very cool—a DH bike is already a highly, ahem, Specialized machine, so why not do something like this? Chain tension is a major factor in tuning suspension and being able to change that variable to a fixed one frees up a lot of options.
