@TheR: agreed, something more like an actual athletic shoe. I had a pair of Nike clipless shoes back in the day that looked really good. They were more of an xc type shoes, but they looked cool and not like Grandpa’s Walmart shoe.

Aaron Gwin Buys Windrock Bike Park
In other bike park news, an 18 year old Kid in Texas named Rhett started a bike park called Station Mountain.Its a pretty cool story—the kid sent out to pitch decks to literally hundreds of investors and ended up raising nearly $4m to acquire the land and build trails. It’s obviously not the scale of Windrock, but the vids on sociall media make it look super fun!

Review: TranzX EDP01 Wireless Electronic Dropper Post
@nation: exactly right. I had this exact thing happen to me at Trestles Bike park—long story, but I had a mechanical dropped fail on me and was able to rig up a method to make it work well enough not to mess up my day. If a control module, wire, batter lead, etc. craps out mid ride there’s nothing you can do.

I think the “budget” FS bike space is easily the most interesting segment in MTB right now. The level of bike one can get for $2500 is pretty astonishing provided you’re ok with aluminum frames.

Push Industries is Making an Inverted Fork - Sea Otter 2023
I don’t get the notion that inverted forks are home how more
flexible than traditional ones. EVERY serious motorcycle uses an inverted fork design precisely because they are stiffer than a traditional fork design. I think this myth of the flexible inverted MTB fork has more to do with poor engineering than an inherent issue in then concept.
