Attn Alberta riders! Thorsby Jam 2008 - January 5th and 6th by andrewrock

Alberta riders be aware the 2nd annual indoor mountain bike only park jam has been announced for 2008! The venue is Thorsby ramp park in Thorsby Alberta just west of Leduc! The second annual jam is being put on in part by Bow Cycle, BLOCK 8 bike co. and Pure Cycle! This year is sure to be a good time with two days of riding instead of one!The Thorsby jam for 2008 has been announced for the 5th and 6th of January! This is the 2nd annual mountain bike only indoor park jam, held in Thorsby Alberta (just west of Leduc). This year will be slightly different as the format has changed and will no longer be a formatted contest! This year it will be a jam style contest where everyone rides all day from noon till 6pm. At 6 there will be a gathering of the riders where the riders will decide on the winners of certain categories (rider of the day, best trick of the day, most flow/style for the day, etc.) the prizes will be handed out and then the park will remain open until 9pm for whoever wants to ride still.

The next day the same thing will happen but riding will be over contest wise at 4pm. Then the same daily prizes will be chosen by the riders and the weekend winners will also be chosen! Then the park will remain open till about 8 pm for whoever wants to ride. This year plans on being a bigger event than the previous year due to increased involvement by local sponsors (Bow Cycle,BLOCK8 Bikes and Pure Cycle)! The two day format should work for a more relaxed laid back atmosphere with tons of ripping time for all! The entry fee is $20 for the weekend paid by ALL who intend on riding, with $10 single day entry fees. Media are free as well as spectators.

ALL participants who wish to ride are strongly encouraged to email me for more information! Waivers will be available ahead of time via email so I have to have your address to send it to you!

This is VERY IMPORTANT if you are under 18 as a parent or guardian must sign for you!

Well it is jam format so there are NO divisions/caatagories, it comes down to different rider voted awards at the end of each day. the prizes have been picked with all rider styles/levels considered, so there is a chance for everyone who shows up to win something! it should be fun! if you are interested email me and i can give you more information, its all on the poster.

Its good as always! ^ no problem! yeah good to see some interest! yeah its a weekend for the riders so hopefully we get a ton of people out and i know all will enjoy themselves!

I suppose as usual I would be the only 34-year-old riding? Would that make me a shoe in to win the "Masters category??" But seriously what kind of divisions are we looking at?

Ya good work! I'm Glad more people are steppin' up to promote events. Freeride/Park/Racing, whatever. more events in the AB is a GREAT thing!
