Our partnership with evo:As our new title sponsor, evo is doing more than putting their name at the top of an event; they are partnering with us to create broader outreach for woman mountain bikers and racers to connect with the community.
“We’re very proud to join the Sturdy Dirty as title sponsor for the next three years and see how we can partner to grow the community,” said Chris Shalbot, evo Brand & Marketing Manager.
“The Sturdy Dirty draws such a diverse and fun group of women of all abilities and ages from all over the States and Canada. The relaxed vibe and encouraging atmosphere make the Sturdy one of our staff’s favorite races to work year after year,” continued Shalbot. “It’s events like the Sturdy that encourage engagement and advocacy within the community for seasoned riders, foster a deeper passion in newer riders, and help to develop an affinity to the outdoors and future stewardship for the next generation of riders.”
Shalbot is also keen on the new race location. “The changing of the venue to the Raging River trail system for 2020 will only add more variety and open up the possibilities to turn the race into a weekend long event,” said Shalbot.
The popular Raging River trail system in North Bend, which has seen few races in its recent history, is exciting for the new opportunities it presents, including onsite camping and the new Canyon Creek DH trail, which we've been working on with Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance to complete in time for race day. Sturdy Dirty participants will be the very first to race the trail, along with other fun and challenging stages.
“When Evergreen approached us to adopt Canyon Creek DH we jumped at the opportunity to be part of the build from the beginning,” said Sturdy Dirty race organizer Ady Bee Lane. “We've participated in the builds of a lot of new trails, but we've never had one that we’ve dedicated so much time to or been a part of the design process. CCDH is designed as a ‘spicy blue’ level trail, which makes it fun for a range of ability levels. We can't wait to share the trail with the ladies at the Sturdy Dirty.”
In partnership with Radical Roots MTB, we are also expanding our pre-season “Skills Series” events happening now through June that are designed to help develop the “rider-to-racer” experience for racers attending the Sturdy Dirty Enduro. Other early season events include advanced rider sessions on black-diamond level trails led by local pros, monthly Sturdy Dirty dig days, and bike maintenance classes at evo.
“Part of our mission is to get people involved in their local bike communities from day one, not just on race day,” said Sturdy Dirty organizer Angela Sucich. “And now with evo’s help, we can dream big together and plan for amazing things for the future.”
We at the Sturdy Dirty Enduro would also like to thank our “Slay All Day” Sponsors: Norco Bicycles, SRAM, PNW Components, Singletrack Cycles, and Industry Nine.
